CHIȘINĂU, 22 august 2012. Representatives from the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) met with Latvian experts including representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (MEPRD), to include the results of bilateral cooperation in the update to the North Regional Development Strategy (RDS North).
During the talks, the foreign experts reported that specialists at the North Regional Development Agency (North RDA) effectively cooperated and provided the necessary information resulting in such activities as the implementation of an action plan that established and managed the exchange of experiences regarding cross-regional strategic planning and priorities.
At the same time, Latvian experts explained the process of developing regional development strategies in their country and said that the priorities of regional development programs and strategies include identifying municipal needs with the initiative coming from local authorities.
For their part, representatives of MRDC thanked the Latvian experts for their support and said they will continue to work on established areas of cooperation. They also stressed that they would continue exchanging experiences in the economic development of regions, based on a healthy competition in the field, with a project starting in 2013.
