A group of specialists from the Northern Regional Development Agency (RDA North) made ”‹”‹today, 25th August, a visit to monitor a project at the Free Economic Zone "Balti" (FEZ "Balti"). The project was launched on June 29th this year and is called "Connecting FEZ" Balti "to municipal utilities: water, sewage, electricity, roads."

During the visit, representatives of RDA North checked the performance of work according to the schedule of execution. Thus, concealed water pipes of a length of 200 meters of external water was found. According to local estimate, Chapter 2-26, pipe pressure polyethylene was installed, high density, for water supply, with a diameter of 225 millimeters. So far, the main problem is the high temperatures and soil density (the ground was still pressed in Soviet times, when the factory "Selimaș" was located on this site). For these reasons, Excavators overheat and in one day it is only possible to do a maximum length of 25-30 meters.

As a result of implementation of the said draft, FEZ "Balti" will be connected to municipal utilities: water, sewage, electricity, roads, and in the region will enhance the quality of life by creating about 2,500 new jobs.

This project is one of seven projects in the Northern Region Development Fund resources approved for funding from the National Regional Development (NFRD) in 2011.
