The project "Quality water and sewerage services in the city Otaci for a clean environment in the North" was launched

Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC), Northern Regional Development Agency (RDA North) and the city of Otaci launched the regional development project "Quality water and sewerage services in the city Otaci for a clean environment in the region North". The launch took place at City Hall of Otaci in the district Ocnita.

This project is one of seven projects in the Northern Region Development Fund resources approved for funding from the National Regional Development in 2011.

In his greeting word, RDA North Director, Ion Bodrug, referred to major regional impact of the project, noting that he worked very hard on this project. "We know the problem of the city of Otaci. We are happy that the mayor was very active during the first call for proposals. Thanks to the team he lead and managed they were able to submit two projects, one of which was approved as a project really with major regional impact. It is an important event for the north of Moldova", said Ion Bodrug.

In turn, President of District Council Ocnita, Ion Tomai, congratulated the City of Otaci on the launch of the project, noting, in context, its importance. "I think today's meeting would not be the first nor the last. On the table we have projects that were submitted. We all know the republican budget situation. Therefore, the only way that we implement is why some one to work further with ADR North", said Ion Tomai.

In his speech, the Mayor of Otaci, Vasile Traghira, congratulated the team at the launch of this important project for the town. "Citizens and those living in the region are happy to start doing something", said Mayor of Otaci.

The official launch of the project ended with the signing of a partnership between RDA North and the City of Otaci, followed by a presentation of RDA North activities. The agreement was signed by the Director of RDA North Ion Bodrug and the mayor of Otaci, Vasile Traghira. 

Beneficiary of the project is the City Hall of Otaci. The overall objective is to expand and upgrade water and sewer system of the city Otaci. The total project is 25,559,700 lei, full requested amount of resources from the National Fund for Regional Development. Duration of the project is 24 months.
