Working visit to find solutions for the effective implementation of the project in the town of Otaci

On February 9, 2011 a working session, in the city of Otaci, was held to identify the optimum solution for the location of the wastewater treatment plant in the city.

City's geographical location on the river Nistru Otaci, creates specific difficulties for building the treatment plant. More time is being spent searching for an effective solution economically, while respecting the normative acts on environment protection. There is a feasibility study on wastewater treatment, developed by Urbanproiect, which proposes five possible variants. Traghira Mayor Vasile said from 2008 until now they have been discussing this issue, involving persons in charge of ministries, public institutions, but was not able to reach a common understanding. The problem is compounded by the fact that it requires the involvement of state authorities of Ukraine.

The discussion was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction. Also Northern Regional Development Agency, experts from the State Ecological Inspectorate and IS "URBANPROIECT" attended this meeting. All of which have brought about proposals to find a solution to the location of the wastewater treatment plant construction.

Mr. Ion Bodrug, ADR Director North, proposed moving the ground where they examined the planned land. It was decided to expedite the process and state institutions responsible for authorizing the treatment plant location to provide an answer within 14 days.
