Lake La Fontal will be hospitable to tourists at night

Cobani (Glodeni), 28 February 2014. Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MDRC) and specialists from the North Regional Development Agency (North RDA) recently conducted a site visit of the project "Eco Route Planning of Pădurea Domnească" on this occasion by organizing a working session.

During the meeting they discussed the current situation of the project, as well as the start of the second phase of implementation. Three pensions will be built, each with seven beds each, camping and parking spaces for cars. All this is to be built this year, the tourist camp at Lake La Fontal, located near the village Cobani, Glodeni.

Present at the hearing were the head of the Directorate General for Regional Development MDRC, Valerian Banzaru, who emphasized the importance of projects related to the development of tourism and the need for quality execution of works. In this context, RDA North Director, Ion Bodrug asked the actors involved in the project implementation more responsibility to not delay the execution of works.

Director of LLC "Agentinter" Veaceslav Gurduza, reported to the members of the hearing that the company he leads is ready for the start of construction, but in the process of studying the technical documentation and its overlap with the ground situation in the sub-project "La Font" was found no material necessary to execute quality work. About this fact, project beneficiary represented by District Council of Glodeni and investors, represented by the North RDA were notified.

To get information on the need for additional work and causes them, Glodeni District Council of is due to hold a joint work session with representatives of RDA North, CR Glodeni, the design institution, the economic operator and technical manager.

With an area of 24.2 hectares, Lake La Fontal in Pădurea Domnească Nature Reserve is a vestigial lake which is special in that it is fed by several ascending springs rare in Moldova. Water of these sources has a high degree of mineralization. The lake was formed by past Prut river overflows. When seasonal floods were stopped by the Costești-Stânca dam, the lake found itself without water sources and almost entirely receded and was covered with reeds and rushes. The total disappearance of the lake was saved several mineral water springs. Swamp vegetation turned the lake into a favorable place for harboring creatures such as amphibians, reptiles, birds and aquatic mammals.

Recall that the construction of a gazebo and a panoramic lookout to "zimbrăria" from within the reserve were finalized in November 2013.

"This pearl of Northern Development Region - Pădurea Domnească - will attract significant investments in the coming years, after the necessary infrastructure will be built. Namely these destinations attract tourists who do not live in the Republic of Moldova", says North RDA Director, Ion Bodrug.

According to district authorities, Pădurea Domnească Nature Reserve is visited by 3-4 thousands of tourists, and that in the absence of well-developed infrastructure.

About the project

The project applicant for "Planning of the ecotourism route Pădurea Domnească " released in September 2013 is the District Council Glodeni. The project is part of Priority III of the Northern Regional Development Strategy - Improve the environment and tourism attractiveness. This project aims to develop tourism, culture and recreation, to help increase employment, provide alternative income and the diversification in rural areas.

According to the decision National Coordination Council for Regional Development (NCCRD) no. 13/13 on the 20^th of December 2013 for further implementation of the project will be allocated in 2014, 3 997 300 lei from the National Fund for Regional Development (NFRD). For work performed in 2013, 719, 42 thousand lei was used from the NFRD. The total project value is 4 716 700 lei, money allocated from NFRD.
