Ialoveni, December 3, 2012. An Information Center for Local Authorities in Moldova was launched. "In the near future we will see and better understand how the center works. Hopefully, the North Regional Development Agency will receive the same support to launch a similar center in Balti", said RDA North Director, Ion Bodrug. The opening ceremony was attended by the Information Center H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Moldova, William H. Moser, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Veaceslav Guțuțui, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Katarzyna PeÅ‚czyÅ„ska-NaÅ‚Ä™cz; district of Ialoveni President Nicolae Andronachi, directors of RDA North and RDA Center, Ion Bodrug, and Tudor Mesina, directors and employees of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, RDAs and ILAC Centre, civil society representatives, and journalists. "We are pleased that the the ICLA was completed in Ialoveni and are sure that it will be successful, as well as other projects involving Poland. Hopefully LPAs will be involved and will be even more collaborative, with new partnerships and investments", said Deputy Minister Veaceslav Guțuțui. "I am very happy that I can attend the opening of the center. I hope you have a network throughout the Republic of Moldova. We want to share the Polish experience with Moldova", said Deputy Minister Katarzyna PeÅ‚czyÅ„ska-NaÅ‚Ä™cz. In turn, ICLA director Krzysztof Kolanowski, has confirmed availability for effective cooperation, noting that he has a lot of experience and is willing to share it with local public authorities. Director of the Center RDA, Tudor Meșină, said that ICLA will be a good support for the country, as it will help find solutions to community problems. The ICLA's goal is to support local authorities and NGOs in the country to promote the implementation of projects, promote external partnerships, and attract prospective donors. The Information Center for Local Authorities in Moldova is implemented with assistance provided under the Memorandum of Understanding between Moldova and Poland, signed on 29 June 2012 in Chisinau. The center is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, but is expected to receive support of other international partners. The ICLA's mission is to provide local authorities and NGOs in Moldova with all necessary information (know-how) that promotes the idea of ”‹”‹implementing projects, but still looking for possible funding and external partners. This will be done in three levels: I. The first level provides a website will contain complete information regarding donors, their requirements for projects (manual), also a database of potential beneficiaries who are looking for partners in Moldova and vice versa. II. The second level consists of organizing courses (trainings) on topics that are in the interests of local authorities and NGOs will apply for funding (preparing an application, implementing a successful project, business partners, preparation of reports, etc.). Detailed content of the course will be based on regional requirements. III. The third level will be based on individual consultations will take place not only in Ialoveni, but also in other locations. The ICLA is located in Ialoveni, within Center RDA.
