Improving ADR form of cooperation between North and partners

On February 17^th and 18^th the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) organized a planning workshop entitled: "Modernization of local public services." Representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development and the Regional Development Agencies North, Central and South attended this activity.

Within the two days the participants discussed ways of cooperation under: tools of mutual information, joint planning and reporting, participation in projects funded by sources and sources NFRD GIZ. Discussions started on the needs of development of the ADR and MDRC. Both have identified a list of solutions to be subsequently passed through the mission and objectives of the project "Modernization of local public services."

In this project GIZ has contracted a team of experts in the field of public utilities to support the development of local capacities in this sector. Ms. Gabriele Janikowski presented the team made up of experts on water supply and sanitation, the waste management sector and energy efficiency. The team included experts with relevant experience from Moldovan and other countries. They discussed the main activities planned; how the team of experts would work together with beneficiaries of projects funded by the GIZ, and projects supported by the NFRD.

GIZ consultants had extensive information about the past projects funded by GIZ, logic of intervention, the project's progress and planned activities. Participants had the opportunity to propose solutions to improve the implementation plan. They proposed for the implementation of these projects to be more transparent and to be carried out in close collaboration with the ADR so to ensure transfer of experience in project implementation.

The Northern Region GIZ is currently implementing two projects: "Providing water and sewerage services for Duruitoarea Veche and the village Costesti in the district of Riscani" and "Light effective layer Tătărăuca Veche village."
