Solutions to streamline and enhance performance of North RDC activities

Costesti, Ialoveni, 17-18 October 2013. Members of Regional Development Regional Nord (North RDC) participate in a two-day workshop organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) and Northern Regional Development Agency (RDA North), in partnership with the German International Development Agency (GIZ).

Participants at the workshop aimed to find solutions for streamlining and enhancing the performance of the North RDC, in the context of an analysis and an assessment of North RDC activity.

"Initiative from colleagues of the South RDA to organize such a workshop is welcome. MDRC expectations from such an event are very high, given that the event will run for two days. We hope that this time we are able to discuss in detail those issues and solutions that will give them the development of the North", said Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Liviu Oboroc.

President of RDC North, Ion Parea believes that this workshop is welcome as it will help to improve the efficiency of North RDC. "As mentioned by the president of the National Coordination of Regional Development Deputy Minister Valeriu Lazar, it is very important that since 2014 every district in the Northern Region implements at least one regional development project. In this way we can enhance the activity of RDC North", said the president of North RDC.

In turn, North RDA Director, Ion Bodrug, expressed confidence that the workshop which will occur Friday October 18th and the organization meeting of RDC North will help further streamline activities. "We believe that the best practices will take over more and to work on the development of the North", said North RDA Director.

About the need for sustainable regional development projects spoke Alexandr Muravschi, a senior consultant from GIZ. "Unfortunately, we find that there are many cases when regional development projects go well as long as during their implementation, technical assistance is provided. A lot depends on the capabilities of those involved in the process. That is why today's workshop comes to support this idea", said senior consultant Alexandr Muravschi from GIZ.

"We are in a unique situation. It would be a shame not to use the opportunity to strengthen our team to have effective communication, formal and informal, to know us better, so that these workers enable us to streamline, communicate, and further our work " said Silvia Strelciuc Director Regional Center for Assistance and Information of NGOs „Contact-Cahul" the workshop moderator.

RDA West Romania Director General, Sorin Maxim, and the German expert, Stefan Elsing, spoke about North RDC activity that is similar to other countries institutions. Experts Mariana Puntea and Alexei Sekarev presented future Cross Border Cooperation (CBC) Program for 2014-2020, the information provided by the CBC Regional Office, Chisinau, and support the Eastern Partnership Program territorial.

Workshop for members of North RDC is the first activity of this kind organized by MRDC and RDA North. The costs of organizing the workshop were covered by GIZ.
