Journalists awarded in the "Know the Northern Region!" contest for media outlets

Bălți, December 26, 2012. The North Regional Development Agency announced contest results to media outlets at the event "RDA North after 3 years of activity. Partnerships, accomplishments and prospects ". The " Know the Northern Region" contest was launched on July 5th and ended on December 15th 2012, during which 18 journalists from national and local media outlets have made on over 30 media reports about the most important activities organized by the North RDA.

The North RDA Director, Ion Bodrug, thanked the journalists who participated in the contest. "The success obtained in the North RDA can be brought into the homes of every citizen, and that is thanks to the effort that journalists submit every day. I have always paid attention to the relationship with media outlets. The North RDA is a transparent institution, we speak to the citizens", said director Ion Bodrug.

First place went to the team from the Balti independent weekly newspaper SP for receptivity and professional coverage of events organized by the North RDA. As a prize, the Bălți paper received a gift certificate worth 3000 lei which can be used for electronics. Also, journalists Marina Morozova and Alexandr Dzekiș from the SP, who frequently reported on North RDA's activities, have also received a special award.

Second prize was awarded to HotNews.md. The news site won for responsiveness and operational coverage of events organized by the North RDA. As a prize, HotNews.md team received a similar gift certificate worth 2,000 lei.

Alexandru Ciobanu, journalist and reporter for Radio Moldova, was awarded third place for perseverance in presenting regular events organized by the North RDA. The journalist received a gift certificate worth 1000 lei which can be used to purchase electronics.

Also, for the interest towards events organized by RDA North the following journalists were mentioned: Nelly Uncuță (Moldavskie Vedomosti), Iurie Dondea (Megapolis FM), Tatiana Chetrari (Moldova 1), Viorica Postolachi (Powered TV), Rodica Nemerenco (Prime TV) and Sergiu Glavațchi (Balti TV), all were given 6 similar gift certificates totaling 1,800 lei.

As a result of competition, media institutions were awarded gift certificates totaling 8400 lei, which will be used on buying electronics.

The next competition for media outlets will be announced in January 2013.
